VISA requirements

All participants entering Cameroon require a visa except Nigeria and Mali.

For all participant entering Cameroon an International certificate of Vaccination with valid vaccination against Yellow Fever is an obligation.

Participants must apply for visa to the Cameroon Embassy/Consulates in their country of residence before they travel to Cameroon. Cameroon Embassies and Consulates are present in some countries. Please check their presence through this link:

In case, the Cameroon Embassy or Consulate is not present, IRAD,  Cameroon, can facilitate the provision of visa upon arrival. 

If you need assistance in obtaining a visa, please send an email with subject “'Visa upon arrival” and attach the scanned copy of your passport and an itinerary of your travel plans with flight details to and by 15 Sep 2013. Visas issued upon arrival at the airport require advance approval from immigration authorities. The visa fee at Douala or Yaoundé Airport is 50,000 XAF (±100 USD or 77 euro).

Participants applying for a Cameroon entry visa must be in possession of the following :

  • A passport or travel document with a validity period of at least six months with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s).

  • 1 copy of a completed visa application form.

  • 1 recent Passport Size Photograph (with name of applicant at the back).

  • A photocopy of International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever.

  • Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets.

  • Evidence of sufficient funds to support stay in destination; and letter of invitation from your hosts in Cameroon signed by local authorities.

  • Visa fee of XAF 50,000 (±100 USD or 77 euro)

Please be aware that Airport Departure Tax is levied on all participants departing on: 1. International flights: 10,000 XAF (15.3 euro or 20.25 USD); 2. Domestic flights: 1,000 XAF (1.53 euro or 2.025 USD).

If you travel to Cameroon by car: A “carnet de passages en douane” and an international insurance valid in Cameroon are necessary. (A Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) is a customs document that allows travelers to temporarily import their motor vehicles into a country without having to leave a cash deposit at the border).
