AfricaRice delegation pays a courtesy call on Ivorian Minister of Scientific Research and Higher Education
A delegation led by AfricaRice Director General Dr Harold Roy-Macauley met with H.E. Dr Albert Toikeusse Mabri, Ivorian Minister of Scientific Research and Higher Education (MESRS), on 6 February 2019, to thank him for his continued support to AfricaRice.
Dr Roy-Macauley praised the active role played by the new Director General for Research and Innovation at the MESRS, Prof. Pétronille Acray-Zengbe, who had visited AfricaRice with her team members in Abidjan in October 2018. He briefed the Minister that following discussions with her, a partnership framework had been developed for greater visibility of the collaboration between the MESRS and AfricaRice.
The Minister took the opportunity to thank Dr Roy-Macauley and his team. He reiterated MESRS strong commitment to supporting the Center and the partnership framework.
Dr Roy-Macauley, who was accompanied by AfricaRice Director of Strategic Partnerships and communications and protocol staff, presented the Minister with AfricaRice calendar 2019 and a bag of Orylux 6, an aromatic rice variety developed by AfricaRice.
