Meeting of the 34th ordinary Session of Council of Ministers of AfricaRice

The Government of Côte d’Ivoire, in collaboration with AfricaRice, hosts the 34^th ordinary session of AfricaRice from November 4 to 6, 2026 under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire, His Excellency Robert Beugré Mambé.

Theme: Enhancing the Competitiveness and Marketability of Rice Produced in Africa

Twenty-eight (28) ministers from member countries of AfricaRice, and 28 heads of the National Agricultural Research Systems of each of the member countries of AfricaRice are expected to participate in the events leading to the 34^th Council of Ministers of AfricaRice. The heads of subregional and continental research organizations, international partners and development partners are also expected to participate.

The 34^th Council of Ministers events include:

·      High-Level Technical Meeting involving Ministers, high-ranking government, private sector and scientific experts,

·      Rice crop and products exhibitions during which Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo and AfricaRice will be showcasing recent advances in rice science and contributions to rice self-sufficiency in the two countries, and in Africa,

·      Full session of the meeting of the leadership of the 28 members of the AfricaRice National Research Systems (NARS), the National Experts Committee of AfricaRice.

·      Full session of the 34^th Council of Ministers of AfricaRice meeting.
